SSC CHSL or Commission Combined Higher Secondary Level Exam is a combined competition exam conducted to select Higher Secondary qualified students for various departments and offices of the government. 

The SSC CHSL exam includes posts such as Lower Division Clerk, Junior Secretariat Assistant, Postal Assistant, Sorting Assistant, and Data Entry Operator posts. SSC can choose and suggest candidates for Assistants / Clerks posts through a computer-based test, descriptive paper and Skill Test, or a Typing Test.

This exam is conducted every year for recruitment in many Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations of the govt. of India. The SSC conducts the Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL, 10+2) exam for hiring too many posts such as:

  • Posting Assistants/Sorting Assistants (PA/SA)

Selection Procedure 

SSC CHSL selection process is predicated on the results of all 3 tiers. Candidates have to qualify for every tier to be within the subsequent tier.

Tier 1 consist of 100 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) worth a total of 200 marks. The exam is given in an online setting. The paper is to be finished by the candidates in one hour.

Tier 2 consists of an offline, 100-mark descriptive test. The exam has an hour allotted for candidates to finish it.

Tier 3 is a skill-based exam,  given to applicants who pass the Tier-I and Tier-II exams.After qualifying all 3 tiers the candidates will be called for Document Verification.

 

SSC CHSL Tier-I Exam Pattern

  1. The SSC CHSL Tier I exam is a computer-based online test (CBT) exam conducted online.
  2. Candidates are given a total of 60 minutes to solve the SSC CHSL Tier-I paper comprising 100 questions that count to a total of 200 marks (2 marks each question).
  3. For each wrong attempt, candidates are penalised with 1/2 marks in the Tier-1 exam.
